Lyla, a German Shepherd cross was adopted from the Alberta Rescue Foundation at 3 months of age as an adorable but scared puppy. Two years later she blossomed into a sweet, loyal loving dog that her owners adored. However in December 2003 when she began to start vomiting her owners knew that something was very wrong. A visit to their veterinary hospital revealed that Lyla had a malignant intestinal tumor. The tumor was surgically removed and ACTSS helped pay for the chemotherapy. ACTSS hopes that this young dog will enjoy many more years of health.
