Breed: Irish Setter
Diagnosed with: OSTEOSARCOMA
Age: 8
In the spring of 2003 Sara, an 8 year old Irish Setter, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, cancer of the bone. Sara had her cancerous leg removed and then required chemotherapy. ACTSS subsidized the cost of the chemotherapy. Sara did well until the cancer spread to another location in her body and she lost her battle with cancer. Usually pets with osteosarcoma that undergo amputation and chemotherapy will survive for at least 6 months and commonly a year after diagnosis but Sara did not. In the fall of 2003 Sara lost her struggle with cancer, all of us at ACTSS are deeply saddened by her loss.
