Nouggie was diagnosed with acanthomatous epulis of the mandible. This is an aggressive tumour of the gingiva surrounding the teeth. She had some teeth removed and then radiation treatment to remove the cancer.
"Nouggie needs this treatment as a chance to save her health and lower jaw. Leaving it there is not an option as she will be 7 in July (2006), so has the prospect of many years ahead of her."
